Phase

Phase is the component of the system with the same structure, uniform composition and performance, and separated from each other by interface.

For the electrical system, the generator which can enerate the voltage with equal amplitude, equal frequency, and 120° phase difference is called a three-phase generator; if the three-phase generator is used as a power source, which is called a three-phase power source; and the circuit that is powered by the three-phase power source, called three-phase circuit. In the three phase circuit, U, V, and W are called three phases, and the voltage between the phases is the line voltage, which is 380VAC.

The voltage between the phase and the neutral point is called the phase voltage and the voltage is 220VAC. The neutral line is connected to the neutral point and is connected to any one of the live lines to provide current for the single phase power supply.
