Optical Sensor

The optical sensor, or opto sensor, light sensor, generally refers to a device which is sensitive to light energy from ultraviolet light to infrared light and converts the light energy into an electrical signal. In the optocoupler of a solid state relay, the light sensor is used to convert the infrared light from the LED of the input circuit into an electrical signal to the output circuit.
