Introduction


MGR-SCR Series Three Phase Power Regulator (also known as three-phase thyristor voltage regulator, three-phase power SCR voltage regulator, or three phase thyristor power controller), uses three sets of anti-parallel (back-to-back) Power SCRs as output components to regulate the power of the three-phase load through Phase Control (Conduction Angle Control). To meet the different needs of users, we offer two type of products: the MGR-SCR3_LA series (Basic Type) has the basic three-phase voltage regulation function; the MGR-SCR_LAH series (Professional Type) has full functions, such as three-phase voltage regulation function, multi-function LED status indicator, overheat protection function, fast fuse, output range adjustment (maximum output value and minimum output value are all adjustable). Depending on the load current, the MGR-SCR_LAH series can be also divided into the Low Power Version (L-Power) and the High Power Version (H-Power). The L-Power version is for low power loads; the H-Power version is for high power loads. The basic type (MGR-SCR_LA Series) has no fast fuse (quick-blow fuse), no overheat protection, no heat sink and air-cooled fan by default, but can be equipped optionally. The multi-function type (MGR-SCR-LAH Series) is equipped with high power air cooling fan, heat sink, fast fuse and temperature control device by default.

Precautions and FAQs


MGR-SCR3_LA Series

● The input circuit of the main circuit adopts three-phase four-wire connection, no phase sequence requirement.
● SCR is a high current component, so please be sure to tighten the (A1, B1, C1) and (A2, B2, C2) terminals, otherwise it will heat up the terminals and then burn out the SCR.
● When the three-phase load adopts the Y-connection method, the neutral point of Y must be connected to the neutral line; if the neutral point of Y is not connected to the neutral line, the three-phase load needs to be relatively balanced.
● When the module is used for the load with load power greater than 15 KW, it is recommended to use a suitable heat sink, and apply thermal grease between the heat sink and the SCR backplane, as well as cold air to cool down.
● Module protection: Please use the semiconductor high speed fuse to protect the load and module from overcurrent.
If the operating power is greater than 15KW, be sure to equip a high power air-cooled fan.

MGR-SCR_LAH Series

● The input circuit of the main circuit adopts three-phase three-wire connection, no phase sequence requirement.
● SCR is a high current component, so please be sure to tighten the (R, S, T) and (U, V, W) terminals, otherwise it will heat up the terminals and then burn out the SCR.
● SCR has a built-in fast fuse for overcurrent and short-circuit protection. If the fuse is blown due to overcurrent, be sure to replace it with a fuse of the same specification. Please do not increase Amps of the fuse arbitrarily!
● If the load adopts Y-connection, the neutral point cannot be connected to the neutral line, otherwise the SCR will lose control.
● If the load power is too high or the heat dissipation is not good, consider air cooling device to cool down the module.
● When the heat sink temperature exceeds 75 °C, the over-temperature protection will be automatically turned on and stop the module from working. At this time, only the power status LED is lit.
If the operating power is greater than 15KW, be sure to equip a high power air-cooled fan.
